Portland Nanny Available Part-time

Hi Parent,

I am a Portland Nanny, or since I'm male you can also call me a manny.

As a graduate of Northwest Nannies Institute in 1991 I am a certified professional nanny.

I have over 15 years of experience leading and caring for children of all ages, though mostly school-age.

I am currently on-call for four client families with children that range in age from 7 months to 10 years.

In the Fall of 2010 I returned to Reed College after about a 20 year "sabbatical" to finally finish my B.A. in Psychology. I am now in my senior year and expect to graduate in May, 2012.

I realized my passion for serving children back the summer before I started at Reed.

I had gotten a job at the YMCA's Camp Oakes in Southern California as a counselor, which was my first time taking care of children.

Over the three summers I was a counselor the camp director mostly put me with the youngest boys which ranged in age from 7 to about 12.

Those summers brought me levels of purpose and fulfillment that were almost entirely absent from my studies, so I put two and two together and quit school to begin pursuing opportunities to work with children.

Since then I've worked with children everywhere except the formal classroom in both individual and group settings for about 15 years.

My standard rate is $16 per hour for up to 3 children and I will gladly negotiate a reasonable sharing rate for opportunities to serve more than one family with school-age kids.
