City kicks off holiday season with Liberty Pole lighting, followed by parade to Roc Holiday Village

ROCHESTER, NY - The annual Liberty Pole Lighting and Family Lantern Parade was held to the Rock Holiday Village on Saturday. Mayor Evans, city councilors, Santa, the Prime Time Brass Band, and other characters dressed in holiday costumes were there to light the Liberty Column at the corner of East Main Street and Franklin Street.

After the Liberty Pole is lit, families are handed out free paper lanterns, and they join the parade at Roc Holiday Village, in the park of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park, where they enjoyed free visits with Santa, free crafts, and free ice skating.
