ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) — Tawas the night before Christmas and last-minute shoppers can be found all over the mall on Saturday.
Whether it’s for a spouse, parent, child, or friend, these shoppers have taken to the mall to complete their holiday shopping list.
“It’s amazing to see how many people are coming out, certainly a lot of families today, and it’s fun to see because they’re there, they’re taking their time, they’re shopping around for a last-minute deal, things like that,” said Mark Turani, general manager of JC Penny.
Looking for a holiday bargain is a must for most shoppers this year as price inflation soars. Jewelry, clothing, and holiday decorations are some of the biggest gift contenders for a bargain.
While most shoppers were looking for last minute gifts, some were there to hang out with family and friends.
“We’re together, no matter where you are. It’s nice to be here and have you like snow. These guys, they’ve never seen snow before, and in fact, it’s even more impressive in person,” said last-minute shopper Edouard Bazán Vargas. “.
Bazen Vargas is from Peru and they were at the mall for a family photo with Santa.
“We were reunited almost four years ago, three years ago? Like, all of us. Yeah, it’s a sweet moment,” Bazin Vargas said.
With perfect timing, as this year’s photo will include Edouard’s niece’s new baby, who is just eight days old.
