Claim to fame: Youngstown’s Felder scored her 100th career goal when the GCC beat Steel Valley, 11-0, for their third straight win. She had four goals and two assists in the win for the Centurions (8-3, 8-2), who ranked second in the WPIAL Class A. She also had five goals in the 9-0 win over Sierra Catholics.

The fast-growing forward scored 100 goals and 56 assists in her four-year career before the weekend.

How did it feel to score your 100th goal, and how did the goal develop?

I felt great. I received the ball in half the field and started dribbling forward and tried to pass it to Riley Kerr to make a 1-2 pass, but it was blocked by a defender and bounced back to me and drove towards goal and scored. . I appreciate all the efforts my teammates are putting into helping me get there.

How much momentum do the GCC countries have in the playoffs?

We take one game at a time and learn from each one.

She was hit against Springdale. What happened and how much time did you miss?

I straightened my knee and dislocated the rest of that week.

What went wrong with Springdale’s losing pair?

We didn’t play the way we could, and we all made little mistakes that I think we’ve learned from now.

What do you like about the new coach system Kara Patti?

I like to incorporate more recovery into practices.

I went to the WPIAL and PIAA Finals last year. How challenging will it be to return?

It’s been amazing to reach the WPIAL Final and the PIAA Final for the past two years. How we play well as a team and support each other positively in every game will determine how far we go this year.

How different is the GCC team this year from last year?

We are a young team this year but we have a lot of potential.

What sets Youngstown apart from other schools?

The players and team culture made it really stand out compared to other schools.

Who is the best player you have played against?

Lauren Gehret (from southern Colombia).

You go to PKs against your sister, Sam. Who wins?

I think I will win.

Why are you wearing pink shoes?

Pink is my favorite color, and it has become my signature.

Do you have any pets?

Yes, I have three dogs.

Who is your beloved artist?

Paul Walker.

Carlo Dennis

The school: Greensburg catholic center

Season: big

Claim to fame: Dennis, 18, was a scoring machine for the Centurions (14-1). He scored five goals on Saturday in Centurions’ 7-0 win over Division 2A Elizabeth Forward. He has 49 goals this season and over 130 in his career. In the third game of the season, Dennis scored his 100th career goal, the winner, as the Centurions recovered from a 3-0 deficit to defeat Bentworth, 4-3.

When did you start playing football?

I was three or four years old when I started. I loved him from the start because I was very fast and I enjoyed scoring goals.

Who made you start playing?

I think my mum (Laurie) and dad (BJ) put me in youth football. I always love it. Both went to the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. My father played baseball and basketball for my mother.

What was your most memorable moment in high school?

When we won back-to-back WPIAL titles in seasons one and two. Last year, we lost in the WPIAL Finals to Winchester Thurston and to Eden Christian in the PIAA Qualifiers. We lost to Faith Christian Academy in the 2020 PIAA Finals.

What are the goals for this season?

I want to win another WPIAL title, reach the PIAA Finals again and reverse the 2020 result.

Do you play any other sports in the GCC countries?

I run on the track in the spring. I run the 100 sprint, the sprint and the 400th relay. The track helps me keep fit.

What are your favorite subjects in school?

I love math and science. I think they are very interesting.

Have you chosen a college yet, and what is your major?

I’m going to Grove City to play football and major in engineering.

Who is your favorite soccer player?

I love the way Sergio Aguero plays. I’m trying to design my game after him.

If you could have lunch or dinner with anyone on the floor, who would it be and why?

I might choose Sergio. It would be great to talk about his career and see if he can give me any tips on becoming a better player.

What is your favorite food?

I love dino’s hot chicken wings.

What is one of your favorite hobbies?

I like to play video games. My favorites are Minecraft and Call of Duty. I have an Xbox, and I also play on my PC.

Where is the vacation place you would like to visit?

I want to visit Italy because my grandparents are from this place, I would like to visit Rome and other famous sites.

Where is your favorite vacation spot?

I love the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It’s always a good time there.
