Portland Urban Adventures Winter Day Camp
We are an intrepid team of courageous explorers investigating the natural and cultural resources in Portland looking for 6-14 year olds to join our local expeditions.
In association with the Village Free School, Don Berg, the founder of Attitutor services and author of Teach-Kids-Attitude-1st.com, is proud to be leading this prototype project.
The big idea is to give children the opportunity to get out into this wonderfully resource-rich city based on their own choices about how to explore. I will have one or two Counselors in training (CITs), older teenagers who help with leadership in the group, together we will come up with a menu of practical options for exploring and the participants will choose what they want to do.
The campers will have great fun and learn about their city and what it has to offer them. Portland Urban Adventures is a way to allow kids a special look at their home town and build more of their sense of belonging to it.
